In 1965 they designed an entire new line of "B" body cars. This Coupe' version would not be released until the Model 55 in 1968.

A company run by Mr. Hans van As called HAVAS in Holland created some really neat looking fun cars using DAFs as a base.
The company built specialty convertibles, because there was a demand for them, since DAF did not make them.
Mr. van As's company built two models-

The MERMAID (based on an "A" DAF) and six of these were ever made.

The BEACHCOMER (based on the "B" DAF). About 30 Beachcomers were produced.

When Volvo took over in 1975 HAVAS was forbidden to use the DAF for any more conversions and turned to other brands.
