Today I took another trek with "DUCKY" over the Mountains (this time East) to the Annual Poorman's Car Club car show in Chester, VT. The day started off very soggy with early morning rain. ...oh well, it wouldn't be Vermont without a lot of rain. The show had a decent turnout despite the weather (it rained on & off a little all afternoon) and "DUCKY" went home with another Trophy. Thursday after work I drove "Butterscotch" over to the Hemmings Cruise-In in Bennington. Beautiful weather and over 250 cars showed up. The main parking lot was full before 5pm so a lot of us ended up parking across the street at the Motel lot. In the background you can see the Hemmings corporate complex (both buildings) which also houses the Museum and gift shop/gas station. John

I saw you there DAFFODIL...you had that strange looking VW. ;D On Saturday a very polished (Damn she looked good) "Butterscotch" & I made the trek over to Saratoga Springs, NY for the annual Hemmings Motor News Sports & Exotic Car Show which featured only Foreign cars. The location was awesome, the weather could not have been better and the cars were not be beleived. What a great mix of cars. The people really seemed to enjoy the DAF and I spent a lot of time talking about the car, I even ran into a guy from NJ whose Father had a DAF Dealership in Trenton. What a hoot! I only have one bad thing to say about the show- Although Jim Menneto & his staff did an awesome job they should have also included other classes beside German, British, French, Italian and Japanese cars. How about "Out-of-Production" or "Independent" or "Other Foreign" or "Other European" Jim There are other countries which make (or made) cars- how about Chechoslavakia? or Korea? or Spain? or Australia? or Russia? or even India? Why I even heard that little Holland made cars (& still does) Check out all the other unique cars from the show on my photo site- picasaweb.google.com/thebear5454/20082009CarShowSeasonPhotosJohn

You know that will happen Vince. Some people may not appreciate the rare and unique aspects of our DAFs but there are those who do. My 46 (with 4 trophies) and the 750 Pick-Up (with 11 trophies) are both appreciated for their qualities by many. Your DAF will be no exception when it's done. John

Thanks !! Now all we need is an original DAF car carrier to bring the Daffodils to the show !!! One thing I do look forward to though is that my 1940 GMC Flatbed bed is 12' long, bring the DAF on that, eh? Vincent

Strange VW? Yup, that was me alright! That is a great idea....a perfect car show combo Vince. Hey John, What happened? Did they forget to include "other cars" at the show? How many were left out in the cold besides the DAF? I saw the pix of the Pantera....that was probably another one, right
